Relationships Discussion Evenings
Whether you may be married, dating or single, relationships can be a huge challenge, especially when it comes to how to put God first in your relationship, how to communicate constructively, how to ensure healthy boundaries, how to forgive, heal and restore trust, how to be a whole person in yourself and avoid unhealthy dependencies. These are just a few of the topics we cover in the quarterly Relationship Discussion Evenings.
The format is group discussion with topics and handouts, and the goal is to provide resources and skills for healthy upbuilding relationships, that will stand out as hallmarks of how Christ-followers relate to one another!
Marriage Preparation Course (Laying a good foundation for your marriage)
In the Barn Christian Fellowship we take marriage very seriously - so much so that we insist that anyone planning to get engaged or married must go through a thorough preparation course. In the course, we cover biblical as well as practical principles, and provide guidance, based upon your couple profile, about the areas that you need to work on. We are certain that you will agree that you want a marriage that will not only last, but will thrive, bringing out the best in both of you!
Starts: the week of 15th July (Mon evenings or Sat mornings) Duration: 10-12 weeks,
Cost: R350 for the couple (for the online profile questionnaire that you will complete)
Grief-Share is for people grieving the death of a family member or friend. It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before. Grief-Share is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone
Grief-Share groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life
“Going to Grief-Share feels like having warm arms wrapped around you when you’re shivering.” (a testimony).
Duration: 13 weeks (starting 12th August 2019) on Monday evenings 7PM – 8:30PM. Cost: R250
Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before.
You don’t have to go through it alone! There is support in the group as we share together. DivorceCare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. Each session has two distinct elements: A 35 minute video, followed by a time spent as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in the lives of group members.
We run separate support groups for men and for women.
Duration: 13 weeks, Cost: R250

is the “Wholeness Course” (Putting the pieces together – Psalm 18:24)
The Wholeness Course is all about understanding ourselves from a spiritual, psychological, emotional and behavioural perspective; in other words, why we think, feel and behave the way that we do, and how our story actually belongs to a much bigger God-story. The Wholeness Course will give you a very practical framework from which you can understand how God fits into every area of your life. Our aim is to equip you with tools that will help you grow closer in your relationship with Him.Our journey towards wholeness is an ongoing process. Our transformation as believers is two-fold; we are justified declared by God as righteous on the basis of the perfect righteousness of Christ, however we are being sanctified through the continuous work of the Holy Spirit whereby He purifies the sinner and renews our sinful nature into the image of God, thus enabling us to perform good works - this is the journey of wholeness.
